It's a fun day sunday to travel with my blockmates, 6/6 of us who applied from the University of Santo Tomas College of Education Math majors passed and got accepted to the Sea-Teacher program Batch 6. Today, August 5, was our travel date to go to Medan. We have connecting flights Manila to Singapore and Singapore to Medan, we traveled for almost 6 hours. It was a great and tiring flight.

Travel Experience

Culture is the greatest barrier to your enlightment, your education and your decency.

-Terrence McKenna. For me, knowing one's culture and being able to adapt it is one of the most important part in education.

KNO MEDAN

We were fetch by the host University named Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara. They were very generous to give us a comfortable ride and a welcoming dinner treat before going to our dormitory.

Dinner Treat

Meeting and trying Indonesian food for the first time.

I'm not really a fan of spicy foods but when I tried Nasi Goreng, I liked the taste of it and I'm craving for it everyday.

Culture and Practice

Starting in the arrival where the host university fetch us earlier, we shake hands to them as sign of politeness. The shake hands are not firmly but it is gently and it is also with a smile. It's nice to see that this kind of respect is still present nowadays in Southeast-Asian countries.
